Emphasis is placed on understanding the primary theories (both macro and micro) associated with the practice of transformational development initiatives. 的 prominence of best practices across the nexus of development, 正义, 以及建设和平的工作 is highlighted while examining how Christian witness and Christ-centered transformation in the lives of individuals and their communities is realized.
This course explores faith-based strategies for responding to the needs of individuals and communities impacted by conflict and natural disasters, with emphasis on the unique needs of refugees and internally displaced persons. Emphasis is placed upon effective partnerships which promote opportunities for human flourishing through capacity building, 参与, 本地化工作, as well as standards for quality of care and 问责制 for humanitarian organizations. 学生的文化意识将会增强, 上下文, 以及危机之前的因素, 以及人道主义领域的道德困境.

For those just starting off in 社区 development and 正义 careers, internships are a great way to broaden your network and gain hands-on experience in the workplace. Our MAGDJ program partners with a number of organizations whose internships provide you the opportunity to start making an impact now, while gaining valuable experience as you continue to get your education.
